Should NSW bring in a completely new team for origin 3?

No. They shouldn't.

NSW must start showing some loyalty to their players. In my opinion the only players that need to be replaced are Jaime Lyon and Peter Wallace. I think Mullen, Pearce or Kimmorley would do fantastic jobs in the halves and the Morris twins should both be playing for NSW.

Selectors need to give the team time to adjust and play with eachother because teams who are experienced when it comes to working together are teams that go onto win games. Introducing new players into every game disturbs the dynamics of the team.

In my opinion the major changes that need to be made are in the coaching and training staff. NSW need to do what QLD do, bring back old players to train and coach. Andrew Johns is a start but he's not enough..we need players like ET, Benny Elias, Fitler..bring back the legends of NSW to help develop our young team into a team of the future.

"Origin footy means more to us Queensland kids".

I am a NSW supporter through and through and have been watching state of origin for as long as I can remember.  It's the highlight of the NRL season and every time it rolls around there is a buzz in the air, everyone, even if they don't watch much rugby, gets excited.  But I have to agree with Thurston, Qld have something that NSW don't.  They have a certain spirit or attitude that never gives up, they always have the last laugh, for example look at game one os this series where with a minute remaining Boyd crosses in the corner to rub salt into NSW's wounds.

Ben Hannat is going to be out of play for 4 - 6 weeks with a serious knee injury, an injury he played almost 79 minutes with last wednesday night because no one else could replace him due to several other injuries. This is what origin is all about, he put his body on the line of Queensland and NSW needs more players like him.

Another fantastic example of Queensland spirit is Dallas Johnson.  How many games has he been forced off the field with concussion? Too many for me to count that's for sure.  He continues to put his body on the line even though he knows the consequences will be severe.

NSW have a fantastic new breed of players coming through, I just hope they want it as much as Qld do.

Rooster's efforts in the past few weeks..

Only 3 weeks ago, Phil Gould came on the Sunday Roast and stated that the Sydney Roosters were simply not trying – not putting any effort in. Looking at the last 3 games played – against the Sea Eagles, Titans and Cowboys, I think it is fair to say that they have responded to these accusations.  Despite losing all three games, many positives can be taken out of each one; and as each game ends, the losing margin decreases and the Roosters come closer to winning their next game.

The last 2 times that the Roosters played at Manly, they lost by almost 100 points to nil.  However, this season they were in the game until the last 10 minutes.  They kept fighting back and despite losing by 20 points in the end, the score line was not reflective of the closeness of the game.

Against the Titans, the Roosters were down 18 – 6 at half time and thanks to a fantastic try to the Roosters local junior Tom Symmonds, with 3 minutes remaining the Roosters were in the lead.  However, a beautiful cut out pass by Prince and a freakish effort to stay in the field of play by winger Chris Walker in the final 2 minutes of the game stole the 2 competition points from the Roosters.

Two tries in their opening 2 sets of 6 by the Roosters say them winning 10 – 0 10 minutes into their game against the Cowboys on Saturday night.  However, some terrible goal line defense saw the home side take the lead coming into half time.  With 2 minutes remaining and the score at 24 – 22, the Roosters were unable to secure a win and recorded their 6th consecutive loss of the season. However, there is no doubt that the effort was there.  It was little things that let them down like their goal line defense, inaccuracy of their kicking game and hospital passes.  Also, their goal line defence was something to be concearned about.

The Roosters are missing many players such as Mason, O’mealy, J Aubo and Minichiello however even with these players I think the result would have been the same.  It will be interesting to see how the roosters go in their next game as they will be missing their key play maker Braith Anasta who was forced off the field with an ankle injury.  Shaun Kenny Dowall is the man to watch under the high ball, him and Ben Jones have created a fantastic partnership down the left hand side.

The young players in the side such as Jones, Pearce, Cherrington and Symmonds are players of the future.  However the Roosters coaching staff much coach these players as individuals in order to ensure that they become beneficial to the team and bring the club back to its form which saw them play 3 grand finals in a row.

It should be pointed out that the Roosters lost their last two games because of mis – kicks by Craig Fitzgibbon…it will be interesting to see who will replace him in his goal kicking duties after he leaves for England in 2010.

NSW ORIGIN TEAM SELECTION.

NSW once won 3 series in a row..these days that feels like decades ago..during NSW's "winning streak" as some would call it, despite losing 3 series in a row, Queensland Rugby League stood by its players..and look at the result! They have turned the tables around and come up with 3 strong, and convincing series wins and will no doubt collect their 4th historic win by the end of this series.  NSW selectors are completely contradicting themselves. In game one they chose 8 young players who had never played a game of origin before..for a first dig effort these players, in my opinion,  did incredibly well against an all star outfit to come so close to winning, especially in the middle section of the second half.  Now, the selectors are completely contradicting themselves by choosing Trent Barret over Terry Campese.  I have a few problems with this choice.

Firstly, NSW should have stuck by its players, yes Campese had an average game...but Lockyer did not have a "fantastic" game himself and no one's dropping him..Also, if the selectors were to drop Campese then why not stick by their previous word and choose another young players...why not choose Jarred Mullen or Mitchell Pearce? Both players have played origin before and are playing very well for their respective clubs.

With all do respect for Barret, who is undeniably putting in his all for the Cronulla Sharks this year, if the selectors were looking for "experience" why not choose a player like Brett Kimmorly, yes he threw "that" pass to Bowen in golden point all those years ago but I believe that his efforts for the Bulldogs this year make him a strong contender for the position.

NSW selectors MUST start showing their players some form of loyalty if they wish to develop their team into a winning side.  It's no wonder Greg Inglis, despite being eligable to play for NSW, chose to play for Queensland.
